Chicago, ILL (McC) – What another great season in baseball, we saw outstanding players and coaches perform at the highest level, battling for the right to hoist the most coveted trophy in all of sports, the Robert E. McCabe Championship Trophy! There were No-Hitters, players Hit for the cycle, 20 game winners, 3 players hit 50+ Home Runs, and 1 pitcher had 7 complete game shutouts, DAMN (has the guy said in the Draft Kings commercial). However, before the playoff scramble start, we would like to announce the Season 26 McCabe Magazines All-Pro Squad, league Most Valuable Player, and CY Young award winner.

Calvin Pote Chicago Cubs Age: 28 B/T: S/R Born: Santee, CA Position(s): LF/1B/DH View Hardball Dynasty Profile

Calvin Pote (LF) of the Chicago Cubs (91-71) is our choice for this year’s MVP award, and at 5’-9” and 166 pounds we wonder what’s in the water of this little giant’s home of Santee, California. Pote pounded out 58 Home Runs and 159 RBIs both of which led the league. He has average 49.6 round trippers, and 124.7 RBIs in the 8 full seasons in the majors.

Adam Bradford Anaheim Angels Age: 26 B/T: R/R Born: Fairview, MT Position(s): P (SP3) View Hardball Dynasty Profile

The Anaheim Angels Adam Bradford is our CY Young award winner. What more can we say about this future Hall of Famer. He led the league in wins (23), Whip (0.86), and ERA (1.57), all while leading the Angels to an AL West division crown with a 101-61 record. The Angels control him for one more season and is eligible for Free Agency after next season. However, the folks we talked to in the organization say don’t hold your breath, they have been working on a long-term deal for Bradford 2 days after he was drafted, they’re just waiting for the day they can pull it out, blow the dust off, and have him sign. Look for this young talent to remain an Angels until late, very late in his career.

McCabe Magazines Fireman of the Year is Pedro Manuel. He has won 3 straight National League Fireman of the Year awards and should pocket his 4^th this year. Manuel led the league with 55 saves (60 SVO) which help the San Diego (100-62) Padres win the NL West Division crown. The stat line, 2.37 ERA, 0.93 Whip, 57 strikeouts in 57 innings, in other words Manuel had the typical Pedro Manuel season.

McCABE MAGAZINE ALL ROOKIE TEAM and ROOKIE of the YEAR

Naples, FL (McC) – As the season comes to its conclusion, the find staff here at McCabe Magazine have been spending countless hours working on our most awaited postseason awards. This week we will be unveiling our Rookie of the Year award winner and our Rookie All-Pro Team. This year there are several positions on our All-Rookie Team that don’t have the stats we like to see, so we looked at players we feel have the potential to become major league stars.

The McCabe Magazine’s ROOKIE of the YEAR AWARD WINNER 

Del Wulf Texas Rangers Age: 22 B/T: L/R Born: Greenacres, WA Position(s): SS View Hardball Dynasty Profile

Del Wulf was listed as our 8th rated prospect in our McCabe Magazines "Top 50 Prospects" rankings at the end of season 25. This young man is a 22 year-old power hitting shortstop out of Greenacres, Washington. He was drafted with the 4^th pick in the season 22 amateur draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates and traded to the Rangers last season in a 6 player deal that included the Pirates getting $3.6 M, All-Star pitcher Omar Lopez, Jonathan Haren (P), and Tony Cordero (P). Texas got Wulf, minor leaguer Jesus Rincon who was traded to San Francisco, and Tony Cordero (P). Wulf has power, and that’s a capital “POWER” from both sides of the plate and should improve enough to rise that batting average to around 280 – 290. He has average speed and a very good glove however, we think his natural position is third-base (3B). Anywhere he plays he’ll be a future All-Star and League MVP.
