McCABE MAGAZINE ALL-ROOKIE SQUAD SEASON 33 
And Midseason Rookie of the Year Winner  

Miami, Florida (McC.com) - With the midseason classic upon us McCabe Magazine wanted to recognize the outstanding rookies by publishing our first ever Midseason All-Rookie Team. We also selected a Midseason Rookie of the Year Award winner, and the Stat of the Day folks listed the top 10 rookies in OPS and WHIP. One quick note on the top rookie pitchers, since all rookie pitchers don’t qualify in terms of innings pitched we took the top 25 rookies in innings played and use those players WHIP to determine our top 10. 

Our Rookie of the Year Award winner came down to two outstanding players, Junior Meng (SEA) (OF), Seattle Mariners and Kurt Cooper (HOU) (C) of the Houston Astros. Both players are very deserving of the award however we gave the slide edge to Meng with his 352 batting average, Cooper 311 and OPS of 1.197 to 1.023. However if this is any consolation, it is this editors opinion that Cooper will win the American League rookie of the year and Meng should clearly win the National League’s version of the award.
