Season 17 Top Free Agents
With season 16 coming to a close we here at McCabe Magazine decided to take a quick look at the available Free Agents for season 17. Although there are no Tony Cortes or Phillip Priest out there on the free market there are a few players we feel can help a club needing that last piece. In fact this is the weakest crop of free agents we’ve seen here at McCabe in several years. Listed below you will find our Free Agent rankings for season 17.
Our number one ranked free agent is Washington D.C. switch hitting Centerfielder Diego Hernandez. This 27 year-old former number one overall draft pick out of Oakland, California has been selected to the All-Star squad every year since his first full season to the major leagues. He is a four (4) time Silver Slugger award winner and two (2) time Gold Glove award winner. Hernandez is that rare athlete with speed and power and can play all infield and outfield positions. His career yearly averages are 35 Home Runs, 105 RBI, and 35 Stolen Bases. Hernandez’s career batting average is .285, .343 OBP, with a .542 Slugging percentage. We look for this FA to demand a max deal, and he should get it.
