THE McCABE MAGAZINES ALL DECADE TEAM III

McCABE MAGAZINES ALL-DECADE TEAM

Cincinnati, Ohio (McC.com) – “30 Years and Counting” is the theme for this year’s series on professional baseball in the Robert E McCabe Baseball League. With the year winding down the experts here at your beloved magazine feel it's time to unveil the magazines all decade squad. As you all know we have a assembled quite a panel of experts which include members from Baseball of America magazine, FOX Sports, local beat writers for each club, McCabe senior baseball editors and of course yours truly “No Spellcheck Willy.” We evaluated the last 10 years in professional baseball and selected the top players at each position from the decade. This is important to remember, this is not just one writer sitting down and deciding who should be on the team and who should not be on the team. It is absolutely a group decision by a panel of esteem professionals with over 150 years of experience. I try to explain this point to one of the owners just the other day who was very upset that his club was not selected as one of the top greatest team of all time. This owner will remain nameless however I will say his club plays in Flushing Meadows New York and was the World Series winner in season 21. I didn’t have the heart to tell him that the New York Post beat writer and the Wall Street Journal sports editor didn’t even list his club in the top 15. Like I said I don’t like to point fingers and I want to keep this as professional as possible so we’ll move on with my (oops) with McCabe Magazines ALL DECADE TEAM and honorable mentions. The All-Decade Team is American League heavy however, you'll note that some of these selections spent the majority of the decade in the National League.
